SUGABABES "AMELLE" WITNESSES ATTACK ON BOYFRIEND

Sugababes star Amelle Berrabah "couldn't stop screaming" while boyfriend Freddie Fuller was reportedly attacked with a machete on Christmas Eve. The R&B singer was on a festive pub run with Freddie and her sisters when Freddie was attacked. According to an interview with Amelle, "He was left for dead. It was horrific - like a nightmare but worse because it was real. How one person can do that to another I don't know. I couldn't stop myself screaming."

Speaking outside the hospital yesterday, she said: "It's awful to see him lying there so still with his face so pale and his limbs all bound up. He keeps slipping in and out of consciousness, so we have barely been able to speak. I brushed his teeth this morning and washed his face because he can't do anything for himself at the moment. I watch every flicker of his eyes to see how he is doing and he seems to be getting stronger. But the doctors say he's going to need constant care for at least eight weeks so I've decided to book him into a private hospital."

A source from Hampshire police said the incident may have been a reprisal attack following an incident a year ago when Freddie was arrested after he got into a fight with a man in a Camberley nightclub after the man allegedly groped Amelle.
