Nicole Richie is eight months pregnant, but she hasn’t slowed down one bit.
“I remember walking into this office and telling my managers, ‘So I think [at] around five or six months I’m probably going to be really tired and I’m not going to want to do a lot,‘ and I’ve been totally fine,” Nicole told Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush. “I’ve been up and at ‘em every single day and I’ve been ready to go, so you know, you just have to listen to what your body tells you. But so far I’ve been great. I haven’t slowed down yet!”
In fact, Nicole is still strutting from meeting to meeting in five-inch heels. And she’s also extending her helping hand to those in need as motherhood looms.
In Australia, for boyfriend Joel Madden’s Good Charlotte tour last month, Nicole visited a children’s hospital. She took one lucky young man backstage at the Good Charlotte concert as his illness prevented him from being in the crowd.
Nicole now has a newly developed commitment to giving back with the creation of the Richie Madden Children’s Foundation. At Nicole’s recent baby shower in LA, she successfully raised over $25,000 and plenty of donations, all of which were given to mothers in need.
“This obviously came as a function of being pregnant. On the poster it says ‘In honor of baby Madden.’ So you are thinking to yourself, ‘I am bringing a child into this world, what am I doing to make this world a little bit better?’” Billy asked Nicole.
“Oh exactly. I mean, there is a natural feeling that comes with being pregnant. You just want to protect your baby,” she said.
